There may be no such thing as a free lunch but there’s certainly lots of free stuff available online if you just know where and how to look for it. In some cases it may be in the form of free samples from companies who just want you to see how fabulous their products are and hope that after you’ve tried a free sample you’ll become a loyal customer and spend some of your hard earned cash with them.
There are also a growing number of websites and directories where people advertise their items which they don’t want any more . . . for free. It follows in the same vein as reusing and recycling really. If you don’t want something anymore and just want rid of it, why throw it into the trash? How about advertising it online for free so that somebody who does have a use for it can collect it and take it out of your way? That makes perfect sense don’t you think?
Some of the free products you get online do have strings attached however. Even though they won’t cost you any money they may cost you just a little bit of your valuable time.
Some websites will provide you with free products in return for writing helpful reviews for the website. This may be a good way to get stuff for nothing but realistically speaking how truthful do you think those reviews are going to be? I know it’s all about getting feedback from clients and helping with search engine rankings but really? Mind you, who’s complaining if you get something for free which you really wanted and would have actually been glad to pay for?
There are plenty of free books online, particularly if you are happy to let eBooks provide your reading materials. Public domain books are free from major websites, just do a little research and download them as and when required without spending a single penny.
Some people really do get to be quite professional at finding free stuff and end up with lots of valuable goodies like air travel, gadgets and more. Of course, the more time you put into this sort of thing the more things you will be able to find but it’s certainly worth pursuing if you have a little bit of spare time on your hands.
Remember at the end of the day that there really is no such thing as a free lunch, or a free gadget, or free air miles or free anything else. Whereas you may not have to pay with money you will generally be exchanging information, time or something equally valuable to the company making the offer.
These sacrifices may be well worth it for you depending upon your circumstances but you must always be sure that you know exactly what you will be sacrificing before entering into any agreement. The word “free” really is too good an opportunity to miss up for many people however, use that single word and the product is sold there and then.
